ChimpanSEO is a SaaS platform that generates and publishes SEO-optimized articles to WordPress blogs optimized not just for Google, but for AI answer engines like ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews. Built for freelance SEOs and small Italian agencies managing multiple client sites. In development since May 2026, in production since mid-June 2026.
The problem
Anyone writing SEO content today has to satisfy two different kinds of engines: the classic one (Google) and the generative ones, which synthesize an answer from multiple sources and only cite content written in an extractable format. Most existing tools optimize for the first and ignore the second. ChimpanSEO had to generate content built for both, running a technical audit that checks the basics title, schema, canonical, alt text are in place before working on AI-citation structure at all.
My role
Project direction: product decisions, pricing, priorities, continuous review. The code was written with Claude (Anthropic), in a process of direction and verification rather than writing every line myself.
Where AI actually did the work
Beyond writing code, it built the entire article-generation pipeline the product itself ran a security audit on the database that caught a silent regression in access policies, rebuilt the pricing model from scratch by comparing real generation costs against three target user tiers, and diagnosed production bugs a 500 error on every article page, an empty environment variable silently disabling entire features starting from symptoms, not from a list of suspects handed to it in advance.
Process
Scaffolding and authentication (Next.js, Supabase, Stripe) May 2026
WordPress integration (site connection, dedicated plugin) and the AI article-generation engine
Internationalization, Search Console, AEO scoring, admin dashboard, onboarding
A three-month internal audit: removed marketing claims that weren't true, fixed a prompt that pushed the AI to invent statistics, rebuilt pricing on real cost data
Result
Real numbers from a project that's just getting started, not a proven success story. 118 articles published to the blog in about three months. Average Search Console position improved from 28.1 to 12.1 comparing two consecutive 14-day windows a positive signal, still on a small sample. Two active accounts, one of them a paying customer. Organic traffic is still minimal this is the stage where a project gets tested, not where results get counted.
